Tickle Belt

Manray: "Hahahaha (laughter) what's wrong with me? What is this infernal contraption?"

Spongebob: "Don't play dumb Manray, you know that's the tickle belt mermaid man used on you in episode number 17". 

Manray: "Hahahaha (laughter) I'll never get out of here wearing this belt!"

The tickle belt is a contraption that Spongebob uses on Manray to try to teach him to be a better person. The tickle belt works by being put on someones hips like a normal belt, however, it is locked so that the person who has it on can not take it off. Then, once the person with the controller to the belt pushes the button, it causes an unrelenting force of ticklish vibrations which course through your body causing you to fall on the ground, laughing uncontrollably, and unable to move freely. It feels as if you are being tickled from every point on your body. We chose the tickle belt because it is a remarkable device that could be built in real life and could be used in numerous different ways for the greater good. A use that we came up with for the tickle belt in practical society would be in the daily life of a correctional institution and in the various branches of it. If our penitentiaries used tickle belts in prisons, many positive results would come from the change. Prisoners would behave much better because they would know that the guards could cause them to be tickled severely all over with the push of a button. Being tickled might not seem that bad but this strong of a tickle would quickly change their mood from jolly to frightful because they can't stop it from changing. The tickle belt would not only treat the prisoners to respect the guards, but it would also prevent a lot of unnecessary violence. For instance, when a fight between two inmates breaks out, instead of the guards having to break it up by hitting them, they could just simply press a button and the two men would be on the ground, unable to do anything besides laugh uncontrollably. The tickle belt does have some drawbacks though. If the tickle belt fell into the wrong hands, then it could be abused very easily. With a push of a button, someone would be at your mercy. This could be used for torture, blackmail, and other sorts of illegal actions. Another drawback is that the tickle belt would most likely have to run on batteries which means that while changing the batteries, the person who was being constrained by the tickle belt is now free to do whatever. A final drawback is that since it sends strong vibrations through your body, it is like that it could cause nerve damage and injure someone permanently. In this time period, we believe that the tickle belt is in fact, very feasible. Although one has not been crafted yet, all the materials needed are most likely available. The tickle belt is essentially a remote control and a massage chair put together in a device. It is something that causes a strong tickling sensation at the push of a button. There are only two things that might make the tickle belt seem unrealistic. The first is whether or not the person the tickle belt is on would be able to remove it. In the TV show, Manray is unable to take it off because it is locked and he needed a key to unlock it. The thing that we are concerned about is whether or not the belt would be able to stay tight enough to a person that they wouldn't be able to take slip it off, but not so tight that they would be caused massive discomfort or even a mild case of death. We believe that this is possible, all that would be needed would be a material that molds to a persons hips which can then harden to form a cast which could then have lightweight metal melted around it to form the belt. The other thing that might be impossible would be if something that only affects the middle part of you body could cause strong tingling vibrations throughout your body. We believe that it would be possible for something from your belt to cause strong enough vibrations, to reach throughout your body, it would just have to directly affect the spinal cord. Also, the tickle belt could be strong enough at the area of impact that it would not need to affect the entire body, but just the waist area. The tickle belt is a phenomenal idea that we hope is created some day soon
