Force Fields - group 2 (Locklin, Guba, Hamilton)

At first thought, the idea of a force field seems futuristic and a long ways out from becoming a reality. Stopping a projectile, or eventually a laser or some sort of particle beam, is improbable at this moment. the amount of energy or force needed may exceed the capabilities of any human contraption. However, there is a massive electro-magnetic field which surrounds the earth and blocks large amounts of radiation coming from the sun. This points towards a magnetic force field as the most feasible type that could be created. A large enough magnetic pulse or continuous exertion thereof could theoretically stop metal projectiles, or even individual particles if such a precise measurement ever becomes possible.
Previously, the thought of a force field was simply something from a movie, but because of . However, it is apparent that such a feat of technology could become a reality. After beginning research, it is apparent that this technology is not as unfeasible as it may appear to be.
