Hovercrafts Post #2

Hovercrafts (Post #2)

After doing some research it is clear that the idea of a hovercraft is very much feasible, which

backs up our original thoughts and ideas on this subject.  There are technically hovercrafts that have

been created in the world today.  These may not be as advanced as the ones in The Hunger Games

seeing they can not pick up unconscious bodies off the ground by levitating them while bringing

them abort the ship, but they still are considered "hovercrafts."  The are able to glide across distances

just above the ground in swift motions and even shift up/down or side to side to dodge objects.  On

the downside, in the book the transporters moved at lightning fast speed, whereas today they average

at about 70 miles per hour.  But as technology advances so will the speed of these vehicles and

maybe one day in the future they will be able to obtain such speeds.  These inventions today are also

not noiseless and therefor not able to invade ones privacy or watch one without said person knowing.

The hovercrafts used in the novel were used mainly to spy on people and watch over them, in a

creepy, unsettling way.  So maybe it is best that the hovercrafts today are not able to be as advanced

as those in the novel.
